The converted file is bigger than the original
- HEIC and AVIF compress better than JPEG, so the same photo is often larger as JPEG. Lower the Quality slider, choose a smaller size, or (Premium) turn on Compress to a target size.
- PNG is lossless and is usually much larger than JPEG for photos. Use PNG for screenshots, logos and images with transparency.
A format is missing
- Which formats you can create depends on your iPhone. Convertly only lists the ones your device can write. HEIC and AVIF are Premium.
- Convertly can read WebP but cannot save as WebP yet.
Saving
- Save to Photos asks iOS for permission to add photos. If you declined, open iPhone Settings, Convertly, Photos and allow adding photos.
- JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and GIF can be saved to Photos. Other formats (for example AVIF, PDF, ICO) use Save to Files or Share.
Free limits and Premium
- Free converts up to 5 photos at a time to JPEG or PNG. Premium removes the limit and adds more formats and tools.
- You can try editing, filters and watermarks in the preview for free. Converting with them needs Premium.
- Restore: open Settings and tap Restore Purchases.
- Cancel: Apple manages subscriptions. Go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Convertly. Lifetime Premium is a one-time purchase with no renewals.
Shortcuts and Action Button
Premium adds a Convert Images action to Shortcuts. In the Shortcuts app add the action, choose images, a format and a quality. You can assign a shortcut to the Action Button in iPhone Settings.
